Lezli Braswell, MD

Dr. Braswell is a mom of one daughter and two sons and a family medicine physician currently working part-time in an emergency room fast track in Columbus, GA.

How many children do you have?  We have three kids. Our daughter is five years old, and our sons are three years and four months old.

What’s your specialty? Family medicine

What’s your favorite parenting tip? Do everything with love. Even when you have to discipline them, after you correct their behavior make sure to remind them how much you love them.

What has surprised you most about parenting? How much your heart grows and how much you love your children. It has helped me to understand how much God loves me.

How do you get your kids to eat healthy food? We don’t offer them junk. We also talk a lot about how nutritious foods give them energy and keep them healthy.

How do you work exercise into your family’s life? We turn on music and dance! My kids love to jump around, and it’s fun and good for all of us.

How  do you recharge your batteries? I enjoy times when I have childcare but am not at work to have a pedicure, go for lunch by myself, or read a book. I also just started going back to the gym, and I enjoy that.
