What’s your favorite parenting tip? “This too shall pass.” The best thing about children’s problems is that they usually go away as kids are always changing and growing out of things.

What surprised you most about parenting? Parenting is hard. I never thought it would be easy, but I had no idea how many challenges lay ahead.

How do you get your kids to eat healthy food? Feeding young children is tricky; toddlers can practically live on air. The way I look at it is that toddlers eat by the week. Any one meal, even any one day, they might not eat very much. But if you look at the bigger picture of a week, you’ll see that they even out days when they don’t eat a lot with days where they do.

I think parents get into trouble with this when they worry that their toddlers aren’t eating enough and they cave to toddlers’ request for not-so-nutritious food. Well, at least he’s eating something they think, even if that something is Goldfish crackers for breakfast.

No toddler every starved himself. Take the long view, and be sure to offer healthy choices to your toddler.
