My husband and I enjoy traveling; it’s a huge part of our life together. I fear that will all end when our son is born. Did that happen to you?
Our Mommy MD Guide’s reply: No, not at all. Even after our son, Max, was born, when my husband and I had any spare time, we’d hop on a train or take a road trip. When our son was only 9 months old, I graduated from medical school, and my husband and I took a trip to Tahiti and Max stayed with his grandmother in San Francisco. We were the only non-newlyweds there, but because our real honeymoon was only 2 days long, we considered ourselves honeymooners anyway.
We really started more distant traveling when Max was 4. We took him everywhere. We especially enjoyed Club Med because he could go to the kids’ club, and we had a few hours to ourselves. Max was always easy to travel with. He was a bold, social kid, would eat anything, and we thoroughly enjoyed traveling with him.
