Our Mommy MD Guide’s reply: As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I stopped eating sushi. The risk of infection with bacteria and the mercury levels in raw fish can be dangerous during pregnancy.

Our Mommy MD Guide’s reply: There are so many do’s and don’ts regarding diet that it can drive you crazy. I absolutely avoided raw food. If you pick up a parasite during pregnancy, it can be difficult to treat. Food that has passed quality controls for big national companies and the FDA is probably safer than your husband’s buddy’s deer sausage.
