I’ve heard of concerns caring for cats while pregnant, but what about hamsters?

Our Mommy MD Guide’s reply: When I was pregnant, we had a hamster. They carry some disease that can be dangerous for pregnant women. So I relinquished my hamster care duties to my husband. At the time, he didn’t think it was so great. Our plan for when I was at the hospital giving birth was my husband would go home each day to care for our hamster.

The hamster passed away a few months ago, and my husband was really sad. They got to be very close!
