Quickening

I’m in my second trimester, and I haven’t felt the baby move. At least I don’t think I did. What does it feel like?

Our Mommy MD Guide’s reply: Feeling your baby move is a very strange thing. I’ve heard to some women it feels like soda bubbles rising. Not to me! To me it felt like there was a person in there. But in a good way. Not like it was an alien or anything—like it was a tiny little person.

During my second pregnancy, I was having twins. With a twin pregnancy, you can feel the babies move earlier. I felt my twins by 12 weeks! That’s because your uterus is growing so quickly, and the top of it is pressing up against your abdomen so much earlier.
