Our Mommy MD Guide’s reply: I think there are only two foods my daughter doesn’t like: avocados and pomegranates. Otherwise she’s a very good eater, maybe too good.
My strategy to prevent overeating is that I serve my daughter the healthiest foods of each meal first, for example the vegetables and fruit. Then I give her the protein. And then finally I give her the grains or starch. This way my daughter doesn’t fill up on pasta or bread, and then not have room for her vegetables.
Another trick I’ve found to be helpful is I put any snack foods that my daughter loves, such as Puffs, in high cabinets so she can’t see them. Out of sight equals out of mind.
