Joni Lang

Joni is a mom of four and the owner of Oil Essentials, teaching and sharing the benefits of doTERRA’s therapeutic quality essential oils.  She loves helping people improve their health naturally with essential oils and other health and wellness products.

How many children do you have?  I have four amazing children, one daughter and three boys. Kelli is 28, Franklin is 26, Geoffrey is 23, and Jonathan is 17.  I also have four adorable little grandaughters and one more on the way.

How did you come up with the idea for your company?  I love essential oils, and I love helping people, so becoming involved with a company that would allow me to do that was the perfect fit.  One of my favorite oils is Wild Orange, so it seemed natural to incorporate the vibrant color of oranges in my website.

What’s your favorite parenting tip?  I think if I could go back in time, I would have more patience and enjoy every single minute of my children when they were little.  I had a dream several months ago and in the dream my two oldest were little toddlers again, I was so excited to be with them and play with them and enjoy them.  So, I guess my advice would be, don’t be in a hurry for them to grow up, it happens all too fast, and before you know it you are a grandma!

How do you get your family to eat healthy food and/or exercise?  Exercise was never really a problem.  All of my children are pretty active and so is my husband.  Eating healthy??  That’s a whole other story.  I think the key to healthy eating is to not have all the unhealthy stuff in the house in the first place.  If you only have healthy snacks, they don’t have much choice.

How do you recharge your batteries?  I try to have “me” time in the morning when every one is still asleep and it’s quiet.  I like to read the newspaper and do the crossword puzzles.  I also have lymphatic massage twice a month. That’s the best battery recharger there is!
