Michelle is a mom and the author of I Will Hold You In My Heart Forever: A baby book for little angels
How many children do you have? I have two daughters, Kendra age four and Jocelyn age two, plus I have a special baby boy named Tyler who is my guardian angel. Tyler was born with a severe heart defect and passed away when he was just seven weeks old.
How did you come up with the idea for your book? After my son died, I went on to have two perfectly healthy daughters. It was while filling out their baby books that I came to the realization that I did not have a baby book for my son. I was heartbroken so I set out to design and create a baby book specifically for families who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant/child loss.
What’s your favorite parenting tip? Children love routines. Our bedtime ritual is always the same, and it helps my girls wind down and fall asleep quicker.
How do you get your family to eat healthy food and/or exercise? Keeping my family healthy is very important to me. Our number one rule is to always have dinner together as a family. My husband and I make sure that our daughters see us trying a variety of foods and all we ask of them is to try at least one bite. We also make sure that the whole family is very active in sports.
How do you recharge your batteries? I love to play baseball and go horseback riding. I also like watching my reality TV shows after the kids are in bed!
